Washington elites Mark Kelly and Gabby Giffords claim to be “average gun owners” and have been using that claim as cover for their anti-rights efforts before Congress and several State legislatures. Most recently, these “Average Joes” traveled to Colorado to testify in support of SB 13-196. This bill is a trial lawyer’s wet dream making it easier to sue law abiding gun owners and sellers for the criminal and negligent acts of others. So it seems a little odd that Mark Kelly went out the next day and purchased an AR-15 “Assault weapon”.
From Breitbart.com:
Ironically, on March 5–the day after giving his pro-gun control testimony in Col.–Kelly purchased a 1911-style semi-automatic pistol and an “assault rifle” at Diamondback Police Supply in Tucson, AZ.
Witnesses in the store claim he also bought “high capacity” magazines.
Now since getting caught purchasing his high-powered, 10,000,000,000-rounds-per-second-firing, heat-seeking, toddler-thwacking, shoots-through-schools, you-can-shoot-trains-out-of-the-sky-with-it rifle, Kelly has done an abrupt about face. He now claims that he intends to turn the rifle in to the police once he takes delivery: “I don’t have possession of it yet but I’ll be turning it over to the Tucson PD when I do.” Kelly claims that he purchased the rifle to prove that it’s too easy to buy an “assault weapon”, a claim that bears a really creepy resemblance to something in Christopher Dorner’s manifesto…
If you had a well regulated AWB, this would not happen. The time is now to reinstitute a ban that will save lives. Why does any sportsman need a 30 round magazine for hunting? Why does anyone need a suppressor? Why does anyone need a AR15 rifle? This is the same small arms weapons system utilized in eradicating Al Qaeda, Taliban, and every enemy combatant since the Vietnam war.
Like peas in a pod.
