Mind you, I’m just going by what’s been shown on TV.
The rifle used was an AR-style rifle. Police recovered multiple 30-round, detachable magazines. It should be noted that this gun is already illegal in the state of California. (You can have grandfathered, registered AR rifles with detachable magazines, but not with 30-round magazines.) I point this out because it’s just a matter of time before we hear calls to make them, somehow, more illegal.
Current laws did nothing to stop this particular shooter. New laws won’t stop the next one.
