But will he give the money back?

Harvey Weinstein, top purveyor of viddies featuring the ol’ ultraviolence, has decided that it’s a bit hypocritical to rail against gun owners and the NRA while exploiting gunplay to make a buck. So he’s announced that he’s no longer making violent movies. Big Harve told CNN’s Piers Morgan…

“They have a point. You have to look in the mirror, too. I have to choose movies that aren’t violent or as violent as they used to be. I know for me personally, you know, I can’t continue to do that. The change starts here. It has already. For me, I can’t do it. I can’t make one movie and say this is what I want for my kids and then just go out and be a hypocrite.”

But if he’s truly repentant about making beaucoup bucks from prop guns, Kensington Gore, and stuff blowing up, then he’d get rid of the money those movies generated. Thus far, there’s little to suggest that he’s really had a change of heart. Perhaps a few stories that include the word “divestment” would do the trick.
